DESCRIPTION:THE 25TH ANNUAL BALBOA ISLAND PARADE & AFTER PARTY!!!\n10 am-THE RICK SHERMAN DUO (with Paul Navidad on sax) starts performing; 10:45 am-the bridge closes; 11 am-The Parade Starts; After Party After the Parade (DUH!!!)\n“Silver Bells\, Sea Shells\, and Sandy Beaches” is this year’s theme.  \nThe Rick Sherman Duo will be up on the Grandstand Stage to help with the festivities of one of the world’s greatest little parades! The Rick Sherman Duo will be performing on the stage between Starbucks Coffee and Shanghai Pine Garden\, at the intersection of Balboa Ave. and Marine Avenue (the main street of Balboa Island; also known as “the south end of Jamboree Road”). We start performing at 10:00 am\, and the parade starts at 11:00 am. This is a great slice of Americana\, and a fun day outdoors for the entire family! Also\, please note that immediately after the parade (roughly around 12:30 pm)\, there will be a fun Street After-Party at the Fire Station\, featuring local surf and rock music legends from the 60’s!!! The musicians include members from The Belairs\, The Chantays\, Dick Dale and the Deltones\, The Lee Ferrell Trio\, Paul Williams’ Band\, The Righteous Bros. Band\, The Rhythm Rockers\, The Surfaris\, Bobby Cochran’s Rock N Roll Show\, and the Original “Young Men”!!!

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, June 23rd\, 7pm to 11pm\, Rick will be performing on his 67th birthday at the NEWPORT HARBOR ELKS LODGE\, 3456 Via Oporto\, Newport Beach 92663\nNo presents\, as just your presence is a wonderful gift!!  (949) 673-6110 (reservations for dinner highly recommended; see details below)\nThe Elks Lodges are for “Elks Members and Their Guests Only”\, so as an Elks member myself\, my friends are welcome at all Elks Lodges as my guests when I’m performing. If you would like to come join me for this performance\, please send me an email or give me a call\, so I can assure that the names of all in your party are on the Guest List at the door. The Newport Harbor Elks Lodge has a great dance floor\, and the staff and the members are all very friendly\, and they warmly welcome guests. The food is very good\, and as is the case with drinks\, very reasonably priced. While it’s not required\, I highly recommend phoning ahead and making reservations\, in order to guarantee a “table with a good location near the music”.\nPlease note: Ninety-five percent of the time\, it’s a piece of cake getting to the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge: once you’ve turned onto Via Lido from Newport Blvd\, simply make a left turn at Via Oporto (the 1st street on the left)\, and you will see the Elks Lodge parking lot on your right as you come to the end of Via Oporto. However\, just in case Via Oporto is closed due to the occasional construction in the area\, simply make a u-turn at Via Oporto\, and head back towards Newport Blvd. Just as you near the stop light at Newport Blvd (literally about 5 feet away)\, make a right turn onto Central Avenue (presently there’s no street sign)\, and the Elks Lodge will be ahead on the right\, at the end of Central Avenue. Please also note: the parking lot directly in front of the Lodge is for members only\, but there is some street parking available\, and there is a large parking structure just across the street from the Lodge.
